Marco Pierre White is back on British television, and his name is one of the most searched in the UK today. The celebrity chef’s BBC Two documentary, Rise of the Rockstar Chef, premiered on Thursday 5 November 2026, putting the 64-year-old’s fiery career back in the spotlight. The Marco Pierre White Jr story is the other side of that fame: his son, a former reality television contestant whose life has been shaped by addiction, courtrooms and prison sentences.
Marco Pierre White Jr, 31, is the son of Marco Pierre White and his third wife, Matilde “Mati” Conejero. He was briefly famous in his own right as a housemate on Big Brother 17 in 2016, and he has since become known for a long run of criminal convictions. Growing up in the shadow of Harvey’s
Marco Pierre White Jr grew up in Chelsea, London, as the middle child of one of Britain’s most famous chefs. His father, born in Leeds on 11 December 1961, became the youngest chef in the world to hold three Michelin stars when he won the honour at the age of 33 in 1995. The family lived with the wealth and the pressure that came with that reputation.
His parents’ marriage shaped his early years. Marco Pierre White married Matilde Conejero, a Spanish former waitress, in April 2000, and the couple had three children together: Marco Jr, his brother Luciano and his younger sister Mirabelle. He also has an older half-sister, Letitia, from his father’s first marriage to Alex MacArthur. The marriage to Conejero later broke down, and the children were raised between the family’s homes in London and the West Country.
The privileges of the name came with exposure. Marco Jr has said he first went to rehab at the age of 16, and a court later heard he had struggled with heroin addiction since he was 18. The contrast with his father’s image of control and perfection could hardly have been sharper.
Big Brother 2016 and the first eviction
Marco Pierre White Jr entered the public eye on his own terms in the summer of 2016, when he joined the seventeenth series of Big Brother. He entered the house on Tuesday 7 June 2016, alongside housemates including Andrew Tate, and was evicted ten days later on Friday 17 June 2016. He became the first man to be evicted first on any civilian series of Big Brother UK.
The appearance lasted eleven days, but it fixed his public image. He was 21, heavily tattooed, and introduced as the son of a celebrity chef who had grown up with what he called an extravagant champagne lifestyle. Big Brother returned to the headlines this week when Rochelle Rackham won the 2026 series Days after his eviction, he appeared in court on a drug-driving charge from earlier that year.
The reality television career went no further. He worked as a model for a time, but the court cases that followed kept him in the news for very different reasons.
Fatherhood and a daughter named Arabella Rose
In November 2019, Marco Pierre White Jr became a father. His daughter, Arabella Rose, was born on Wednesday 13 November 2019, and he announced the birth on social media the following day. He described her as his father’s first grandchild, and family sources later said he was a devoted father to the little girl.
The identity of Arabella Rose’s mother has not been made public, and Marco Jr has kept her out of the spotlight. The birth came during a brief quieter period in his life, before the convictions that followed in the 2020s. His daughter’s name has appeared in court reporting since, as judges have weighed his family circumstances against his offending.
A decade of court cases and prison sentences
The criminal record began soon after Big Brother. In 2016 he admitted dishonestly using a former girlfriend’s bank card, and in January 2019 he was fined after a drunken confrontation with police at a train station. In August 2020 he received a 32-week suspended sentence for drug possession, theft and public order offences.
The most serious sentence came on Monday 22 August 2022, when Bristol Crown Court jailed him for 18 months. He had pleaded guilty to 14 offences committed between January 2021 and April 2022, including possessing heroin, carrying a knife, shoplifting and racially aggravated disorderly behaviour towards a Tesco security guard. The court heard he had stolen clothes worth £2,496 from an upmarket equestrian shop during the spree Judge Mark Horton sentenced him to 11 months, with a further 32 weeks from a previously suspended sentence to run consecutively.
The offending continued after his release. In June 2024 he was jailed for 41 weeks after breaking into a delicatessen in Bath, where he was identified from CCTV by his distinctive tattoos after his trousers fell down during the raid. Then, in October 2025, he was jailed for three years and ten months after admitting four counts of burglary, criminal damage and a series of theft charges in a spree that caused nearly £60,000 of damage. The court heard he had 30 previous convictions for 69 offences and was on two suspended sentences for most of the spree.
Money, fame and the family name
Marco Pierre White Jr has never built an independent career or fortune to match his father’s. His father, whose restaurants and television work made him one of Britain’s best-known chefs, is reported to be worth tens of millions of pounds, but no reliable figure exists for his son, and none is claimed here. His son’s income has come from brief modelling and reality television work, and his court cases have repeatedly described thefts carried out to fund a drug habit.
The family name has been both an advantage and a burden. His father has spoken publicly about his son’s struggles, and judges have noted the difficulty of serving a sentence while carrying such a famous surname. The BBC series that put his father back in the spotlight charts how Marco Pierre White, Gordon Ramsay and Heston Blumenthal reshaped British cooking The documentary also revives the old feud with Jamie Oliver, who Marco Sr insisted be dropped from the programme before he agreed to take part.
Marco Pierre White Jr remains in prison as of November 2026, serving the sentence imposed in October 2025. His story is a reminder that a famous surname opens doors, but it does not protect anyone from the consequences of their own choices.
